REGISTRATIONS FOR PITCHING AND MANUSCRIPT ASSESSMENTS ARE NOW OPEN

Pitching Opportunities

Pitching is your opportunity to pitch your manuscript to an agent/editor or publisher of your choice. Pitching sessions are 5 minutes and are FREE. Pitching will be conducted across Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Pitching Sessions are allocated on a first in best dressed policy once bookings go live. We aim to fulfil every delegate’s first preference but as spots are limited, you may only get one or two pitches in total.

For Pitch Registrations you will need:

  • Your Core Conference Booking Number e.g. RWAC17 – 001. You can find this number on your Love Gone Wild emailed booking confirmation. Your booking number is also your invoice number.
  • On the form you will be  asked to nominate your four (4) preferences … so do your research.
  • You do not need to submit any documentation for Pitch registrations.

Manuscript Assessments

We are excited to bring you this RWA conference first. Any author, aspiring, emerging or established, will have the opportunity to submit your manuscript to your choice of one of our assessing agents or editors for assessment.

The submission criteria for ALL authors is:

OPTION A: A one page synopsis, bio, optional photo and your full manuscript;

or

OPTION B: A one page synopsis, bio, optional photo, a minimum of your first 3-Chapters (full manuscript may be submitted) and a two-page proposal.

(Your Proposal – Your 2-page proposal is like a business plan for a book. It is your overview and concept of where your book would fit in a book store. Outline who your competitors are and any similar books. What is your target market, reader demographic and series potential? How will you stand out from the crowd? What does your emerging/established author profile look like? And what are your marketing activity plans?)

 In return, the agent or editor will read the FIRST 15 PAGES ONLY of your submission and provide you with invaluable advice and feedback in an intimate one-on-one fifteen-minute session during the conference.

This is an amazing opportunity for authors. There will be a limited number of manuscript assessment spaces made available when we open pitch registrations. You must have your polished work ready to submit at time of registration. These assessments will cost $150.00 each and are non-refundable on a change of mind basis.

Please note: While all our professionals are in the industry, manuscript assessments do not guarantee more than a critique of your pages. Not all professionals are in the position to acquire all genres or types of manuscripts.
