The eerie sound of didgeridoos fill the air, wild animals linger on the horizon, the screech of native birds sound overhead. A tall, impossibly handsome man is making his way towards you…
We’ve all had that dream, right? While the attendance of Hugh is unlikely, the guest line up for the Brisbane 2017 Love Gone Wild Conference is sure to set your heart pounding and have you swinging into action to attend.

Carrie Feron from Harper Collins Publishers is our VIP International Senior Editor. Carrie has loved the romance genre since she first began to read, spent her days as an English major at the University of Richmond reading love stories disguised as literature, and has always worked on women’s voices through her career. Since her first days at Pageant Books to the past 22 years at Avon, she has supported her authors and the genre and considers herself lucky to have a job she loves. Her current list includes Meg Cabot, Eloisa James, Lisa Kleypas, Sarah MacLean, and Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Recent recipient of the 2016 RWA (America) Vivian Stephens Industry Award Recipient, Carrie will have you flocking to see her.
In a final bit of excitement, agent Cassie Hanjian from US literary agency Waxman Leavell, has approached RWAus specifically to attend our conference event. Waxman Leavell, with offices in both New York and Los Angeles, represent dozens of New York Times bestselling authors, including Christina Lauren, Jessica Sims, Manda Collins, and our very own, Vanessa Carnevale. Cassie believes wholeheartedly in developing strategies that favour long-term sustainability over pushing for the short sale. Her agency is hungry for Australian romance authors and is seeking fresh talent to take into the US market.
