|Marion Lennox, will be a highlight keynote speaker. She has written 111 romances for Harlequin Mills & Boon. Her books have been published in 28 languages and sell in over 130 countries, including Japanese Manga. With a multitude of professional accolades to her name, Marion is a three times Ruby winner, has had 23 nominations for Australian Book of the Year, 12 nominations for RITA – winning twice, and has been awarded the US Romantic Times Career Achievement for ‘a body of work which makes us laugh and teaches us about love’. Her contribution to our conference will be significant and rewarding. With her wealth of knowledge, Marion’s journey through the publishing wilderness is not to be missed.|
|Carrie Feron, Executive Editor, Senior Vice President from William Morrow/Avon. Carrie has spent her entire career editing women’s voices: from crime to psychological suspense, historical fiction to commercial fiction. Among the authors she has worked on for Morrow are New York Times bestselling authors Meg Cabot, Deborah Crombie, Dorothea Benton Frank, Faye Kellerman, Laura Lippman, Elizabeth Lowell and Susan Elizabeth Phillips. |In a final bit of excitement, agent Cassie Hanjian from US literary agency Waxman Leavell, has approached RWAus specifically to attend our conference event. Waxman Leavell, with offices in both New York and Los Angeles, represent dozens of New York Times bestselling authors, including Christina Lauren, Jessica Sims, Manda Collins, and our very own, Vanessa Carnevale. Cassie believes wholeheartedly in developing strategies that favour long-term sustainability over pushing for the short sale. Her agency is hungry for Australian romance authors and is seeking fresh talent to take into the US market.|
