About the Little Gems Contest
Our romantic short story contest is always popular with our members.
Each year we have a 'theme' gem, the name of which must be included in the entry. Both published and unpublished members are eligible.
Tip: Judges prefer the gem (or gem name) to be used creatively as an integral part of the story
Enter : Romantic short story to 3000 words max. PG rating
Theme Gem for 2011 : Garnet
Opens: Dec 25 2010
Closes: Feb 4 2011
Prizes : First- $200 Second-$100 Third - $75
The top scoring entries (12-14) as judged by a mix of reader and writer judges will be published in our annual Little Gems Anthology.
Each published entrant receives two hard copies of the publication.

your hand at designing our next Little Gems Anthology
cover. Send as many designs as you like, entry is free.
Deadline: Friday, 11th February 2010
Entry Fee: No fee
Eligibility: Open to RWA members and non-members.
Judges: A short list of between 3 to 6 designs will be selected by graphic design professional David Whitbread *. The winning entrant will be chosen by the Little Gems Management team.
Prize: $75 plus the winning design as the cover of the 2011 Little Gems Short Story Anthology. Design credit plus 2 copies of the final publication.
