Cover Crush | June

It’s here. Winter has joined us and we celebrate the change in the season with another fantastic line-up from our Members with their New Releases.

I won’t deny I was dazzled by the splendour offered this month. But sometimes, it’s the simple designs that capture the eye. A glint of gold, a Fleur-de-lis, or a nod to old-world charm that can eclipse grander statements. For me, the Art Nouveau time period is a statement in itself. It’s one of my favourite artistic styles and with its clean, elegant, yet whimsical lines, bold colours and feminine inspiration. Placed on a book cover, with its gesture to the original designers who fashioned the mass printed masterpieces we know of today (from the Art Nouveau time period I might add), and I will swoon.

Emmie and the Tudor King by Natalie Murray

So, it should come with no surprise that I was mesmerised by Emmie and the Tudor King by Natalie Murray and published by Literary Crush Publishing. The delicate scrollwork, the history portrayed with the glint of gold, the retention of a contemporary, genre-targeting mass-market appeal through the typography, colouring and style was everything. This cover is gorgeous, stunning, simple. Perfect. Welcome to the Cover Crush family Natalie.

If RWA members would like to get their covers into Heart’s Talk, just log into your account on the RWA website and upload your image before the 8th of each month.

Until next month…
